this is a message from your heart, your most devoted body part

i'm a concert junkie. any artist/band that i adore or even just started listening to, when the come to town i HAVE to see them. i just love how each concert brings forth different people an with it a different atmosphere. it's wonderfully addictive. anyways these are photos of the outfit i wore to the kina grannis concert on sunday night. thanks nicky for taking so many photos, that's why your my best friend haha :)

oh and i'm wearing: faux-leather military jacket- costa blanca, white tank- aero, floral bandeau- garage, tappered military jeans- costa blanca, borrowed wedges from my mama- charrlotte russe?, leather studded bag-aldo, fossil belt- thrifted, newsprint wafers- bang on, necklace- aldo
how perfect was this tank and cannon? it suited my military inspired outfit perfectly and it was adjacent to the beautifully painted wall i took photos infront of in the above photos. i couldn't get a great shot, but further down the wall were murals of great canadian inspirations. a couple being david suzuki and terry fox.
stroll from the pub to miss nicole's place. oh boy, too many memories in this little park. some wonderful summer days and a couple tears.

meet Kina Grannis, she is a tiny little darling with such a big serenading voice. check her out on youtube/itunes.
and just to let you imagine how short she is, i am 5"3 and so is nicole (who isn't wearing heels in the shot)
just a few favourite photos of the night. oh and we almost would have had to cab from new west back home because we were approaching the hours that the skytrains would soon stop running. thank goodness we hoped on one after swapping stations. it was an adventure that's for sure. any favourite concerts you readers or visitors would care to share?

Night Wanderer

after a long day of moving stuff around (was my day off but it felt like i was working, i'll post it in my other blog when i have the energy to) i strolled in a park for bit then got attacked by a wack load of mosquitos. thanks to that unpleasant surprise the fello and i decided to go in the car away from the blood sucking critters and watch a movie on the laptop till my bestest friend nicole was ready for our little sleepover. wow what a run on sentence...good thing i'm starting school again this fall. anywho once nicky arrived at my place we were  completely starving so we decided to walk to one of the many fast food restaurants in our town. i brought alex along cause she was famished as well, it was a fun and random stroll of taking various silly pictures, running across streets and frolicking. the walk back was equally energy packed. now im home and ready to hit bed, nicky and i need to wake up quite early for our school orientation tomorrow. first day on campus- woooh hoo :)

wearing: cream cardigan- aeropostale, eyelit vintage boho tank- thrifted, lace cami underneath- aeropostale, teal roxy jeans- off the wall, beaded sandals- costa rica, vintage nine west bag- thrifted
don't worry i wasn't tresspassing, it was my apartment, right outside my ma's room- i'm not that much of a rebel. or a rebel at all really.
goodnight(or good morning to those of you on the flip side of canada)  hope you guys are ending these last days of summer with a great big bang. i'm so ready to embrace fall at's autumn leaves now.

just another ordinary day

favourite sneakers. white leather keds- value village baaaby :)
secret, magic erasers are indeed magical! they cleaned the blue dye from my super dark wash skinnies right off of my precious white sneakers. so any white leather stained by dye, rub a little bit of magic eraser and your good to go people.
i swear i do own coloured clothing, my closet doesn't just consist of greys, whites, and blacks. for serious! next time i wear something colourful and printed i'll be sure to snap a shot. and that is a promise friends :)

just plain old clothing for another ordinary work day at aero...

wearing: grey t-aeropostale, same ae black skinnies ( i also own a whole wack load of jeans beside these bad boys), flower belt- ae, rings, braclet, bag- costa rica

a hippie girl one day a rock chick the next.

"i was born to rock. learned to walk in flip flops. And i bought my clothes at the local thrift shop. I wouldn't be late if i looked at the clock, but id rather spend time than by a wrist watch. zip-lock keep it fresh. red hot chili pep. dread lock rocksta."

went long boarding yet again today, gotta practice in order to get better right? well i long-boarded for a bit then spent most of the time chillin' under a tree eating drumsticks and listening to shwayze, or laying on the longboard a top the hill. it's summer, so i'm just gonna soak up all those rays :)

wearing: crocheted top-thrifted, denim jeans- aero, bracelets-costa rica.

photos take a couple weeks ago that my lovely friend yaisa finally uploaded. she's a good little photographer wish i could have her around to take photos of my outfits all the time. like carry her around in my bag then take her out and watch her grow from a diminutive stature to her normal hight, like Alice does when she eats those little cookies. anywho this outfit is one of my favs, and i just threw all together that day in about 2 minutes. don't you love those days? when you just grab stuff out or your closet without paying attention put it on then glance at the mirror and go "ohhh i really like this together, it looks goooood". sometimes makes me feel like i should be a fashion stylist cause it seemed so easy and effortless hah. if only- that would be a ridiculously awesome job.

this are two good friends of mine Paula (on the right) and Joryli (on the far left). they are gorgeous on the inside and out as corny as that may sound it is true. plus they are both hilarious in their own way- hence the laughing in the photos :)

"ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE- DO DO DODO DO"

wearing: sheer lightpink/purple blouse- thrifted, black dress- costa blana, chain necklace- aldo, fav. purple stone necklace, black strappy sandals- charlotte russe.

tourist in my city

so tuesday my ma' and headed downtown to pick up a cheque from a car accident we got to a while ago, then after we decided to hit up a consignment shop (ran out of time cause i had to head over to a friends place for a fun get together) where i found a nice jean jacket and the cutest little suspenders ever. i shall upload photos of them another time cause i totally forget to take a photo of them. but the day was lovely and the sun was shinning so we decided to take photos of ourselves and act like tourists, except when a very attractive business man asked us where we were from i bluntly answered "we're from here!" and he kindly said "ohhh, it's always cool to be a tourist in your own city." and it sure is, after her left my mom turned to me and said "GAAAABBI, that's when you say we're from costa rica! or 'my mom's from costa rica, she came to visit me' then they get interested and get the convo going!" i laughed, cause it's very very true, oh well for next time.
