this is my younger sister, alexandra (or alex), she enjoys wearing my clothing (like the black jumper she has on in the photo) along with taking sibling photos and doing hair-she's good at it.
i somehow managed to be on the floor while taking photos...i don't recall how- im wearing sneakers for goodneess sake and was standing in one spot...

tourist in my city

so tuesday my ma' and headed downtown to pick up a cheque from a car accident we got to a while ago, then after we decided to hit up a consignment shop (ran out of time cause i had to head over to a friends place for a fun get together) where i found a nice jean jacket and the cutest little suspenders ever. i shall upload photos of them another time cause i totally forget to take a photo of them. but the day was lovely and the sun was shinning so we decided to take photos of ourselves and act like tourists, except when a very attractive business man asked us where we were from i bluntly answered "we're from here!" and he kindly said "ohhh, it's always cool to be a tourist in your own city." and it sure is, after her left my mom turned to me and said "GAAAABBI, that's when you say we're from costa rica! or 'my mom's from costa rica, she came to visit me' then they get interested and get the convo going!" i laughed, cause it's very very true, oh well for next time.

silence+noise top- urban outfitters, leather jacket-h&m, black skinnies- ae, purple suede bag-thrifted, michael kors leopard print moccasins- thrifted/consignment

rings (from L to R): h&m, some kiosk in the mall that sells silver jewlery/stones, forever21 (his eye fell off... i need to crazy clue it back), costa rica, forever21 & h&m, camp

top it off

Baaaack, well I have been for almost a month now :S my bad on not posting all this time. It's just every time I have an outfit I'd very much like to post I can't find the camera or realize I never snapped it before I got scrubbed out. Terribleness I know, and I apologize- I will get better at this just you wait. Anywho the trip was great, check out my other blog www.gabdez.blogspot.com (curbside propet) for all the details- still have yet to post about them but check it out in a couple of days hah. So here's to my first post since ages ago. Yes it's already somewhat old and being done pretty much all over the world (Europe/Asia/North America) but it's the BUN. I loved it then, love it now, will always love it. Especially since it's so versatile, wear it waaay up on your head, low at bottom, in a chignon on the side, quick and messy, with ribbons or bows, braids, super puffy or neat like a ballerina. I simply love them, they're simple- yet achieving the perfect bun when you want to isn't at all easy. Somedays I get the perfect one when I wake up and tie it up before washing my face, then I look in the mirror and  say "okay, today's a bun day" cause I know for a fact if I let it down I can't get it back the same. So cheers to buns, fresh and ready to go for the summer, now I think I'll go and try to add the braid in the first photo, if not looks like my sister will have to do my hair some day soon :)

birthday wish list?

I have this new love for crop tops, I just wish the weather here permitted to wear them more. But I won't have to worry about that in Costa Rica, yee yee ♥ oh sunshine here I come. I also have a new adiction for sandals, if I had the mula flowing in all the time my closet would probably be filled with all kinds of sandals. but i suppose 3 will have to do for now. OH and I really really really love floral print shorts, I just haven't found a pair I like yet (besides the ones in these photos).

I believe all of the items located on this one are from forever21 except for the straw fedora and the Where The Wild Things Are Soundtrack. I love every single piece, cause well I picked them. I actually love a lot of Forever21's rings and they're a real good price only problem is they turn your fingers a greenish blue tint, but that's nothing some clear nail polish won't fix. I read in another blog that painting a coat of clear nail polish over the jewelery will prevent it from leaving a green tint on your fingers. So I've decided to test it out and will see if it will work for sure.

I probably won't get all, or any of these as gifts since I don't even know if I'm having a birthday party. Just been a tad overwhelmed with the whole getting ready for the trip and all I haven't really had engery to plan a birthday party for myself. I can always buy these for me after

art attack!

Wednesday, February 3

just some real nice photographs i found. i love the colour and feel, how it seems like it was taken in the 60's or early 70's. love it. the colours the simpleness and especially that white lace dress. so i've had no time whatsover to take photos thanks to job searching and all. but now with my portfolio out of the way i might be able to squeeze some time in. i need some good stuff for the trip to costa rica like luggage to start with heh...oh my. 46 days to go!
